In keeping with DLGroup's commitment to cost optimization and use of leading edge technology we offer this new service at no additional cost to our customers and a full two years ahead of the implementation date mandated by the USPS.

Intelligent Mail Barcode is the latest technology improvement by the USPS and is a height-modulated barcode that uses four distinct vertical bar types: Full, Tracker, Ascender and Descender.

Why is the new IMB important to you?

• With 65 characters the IMB has more data capacity than existing barcodes. 
• The IMB can add accuracy, speed and quality to your mail as it travels through the Postal Service's delivery structure.
• Each piece of mail can have an individual serial number and larger volume mailers can receive detailed tracking information on every letter they send.
• IMB streamlines the address update procedure and customers can have the option of electronic address updates at much lower cost than manual notifications.
• With the consolidation of information in the higher capacity IMB there are fewer pieces of information cluttering your address block and consuming space on your mail piece.
